Somatic Psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families.

Specialty

I help New York’s professional women overcome anxiety, exhaustion, stress, relationship challenges and depression, so they can live with more confidence and sense of purpose, and do so with joy and laughter.I am a somatic psychotherapist and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with 10+ years of experience. I work with individuals and couples who are committed to their health and well-being, those wanting to feel better and increase their quality of life. I will partner with you to hack into current belief systems and habits that may no longer be serving you, and we will create new systems and habits that better support your present, as well as your future self..

Background

Through my own therapeutic experiences, I recognized how relative both our past and our present inform our descisions, and behaviors. Lifestyle, relationships, environment, nutrition, and work all play a major role in how we move through and relate to the world around us. My approach is holistic, comprehensive and integrative. I like to incorporate humor and play into our work to balance out the more intense parts of therapy. This way, you may leave our sessions smiling instead of crying. I’ve seen people move from dysfunction to happiness, ease and excitement. My clients report an improvement in relationships, more enjoyment in work and career, and an overall increase in emotional and physical well-being. People feel more clear, focused, and grounded.

About Me

I was born and raised in New York. I pursued a dance career for 25 years in Colorado and San Francisco. An injury led me to the world of Pilates and I worked as a private Pilates trainer for 7 years. I noticed how my clients’ stories deepened as we worked through different areas of the body, how emotions and old stories are stored in the body. As the body opened, so did their hearts and their pain. I truly started to see on a daily basis how we could access the body to heal the mind, and vice versa. As a dancer, I always believed in the mind-body connection. Feelings, emotions, and trauma can get stuck in the body, which can have a negative effect on our physical health, our behavior, our choices, and our relationships. This is what brought me to the benefits of somatic psychotherapy, a modality which can help with either complex symptoms, or if you simply want to improve and optimize the quality of your life.
